Our Salsa Course

We are not here to test your memory system, so we don't just teach a bunch of "figures", but rather the techniques of what makes it work and the artistry side of what makes it looks good and feels better.

We've develop a system that is fun and efficient for everyone to learn. We use "Step by Step" method, you learn your vocabulary and the techniques of how to put them together, so you can become creative in a long run, not just following or coping a program.

We focus on the quality of our classes and workshops. From Rhythm to body movement, from Solo to partner work for all levels.

What do we teach in our courses?

* Rhythm - We emphasis very much on the rhythm and music. Each level has different element and exercise to develop your Rhythm and timing.

* Music hearing and Interpretation.
We teach our classes with live percussion. We also have special training CD to help you to develop your skill.

* Coordination, Balance and Posture.
Warm up and exercise of body coordination and body movement, to help you dance and look better.

* Partner Work - turn patterns and combination for all levels.
Leading and let-lead technique. What makes one combination works or the opposite. Each combination is taught with detail explanation, see more in tricks and tips.

* Footwork
Steps and combination to help you develop your dancing technique with balance, speed, changing weight technique.

* Turning /Spinning technique.
Exercise, tricks and tips for Partner Work.

Partner Work

The art of Partner Work in Salsa dancing - nothing has been prearranged in Club dancing. (Except Show performance.) Every combination come from the spontaneous moment. That's what makes it fun to dance with and challenging to master.

LITTLE DETAIL makes a BIG DIFFERENCE. Learn the technique with TRICKS & TIPS. What is "leadable" or the other way around. What makes it look and feels great or the opposite.

Salsa Cubana

In Cuba, dancing is not just a hobby, it is part of their live. It esquires no special dance shoes or dance floor.

Its "street flavors" in its Style makes it dynamic and intriguing to watch. This Style has many interesting elements such as 'knots' and 'tricks', while they are dancing around in a circular motion. It's danced on 1 or 3. Best fit, of course - Cuba Music.

In our courses, you will be dancing with a group and changing partner all the time. (Casino Rueda Style.) It is fun and effective to learn. (Reommended for beginner withot any dance experiences.)

Salsa Puertoriqueña on "1" /Elegente / Cross-Body Style

Stylish, dynamic and sharp. Salsa Puertoriqueña is actually originate danced on2, but because dancing on1 is easier for everyone to learn, thats why the majority of the dance schools also teach on 1. (This is why we have to emphasis our lesson is on1.)

These styles have a lot of turn patterns during partner work and also solo from time to time- "styling" and "footwork", while they are dancing in a linear motion. Best fits the softer type of music such as romantic Salsa, Salsa from Puerto Rico or almost all other type of modern Salsa music except of course Salsa from Cuba.

*** Tips: Technicially speak, Salsa PR is more difficult for the beginner that has no dance experience at all. This Style needs more dance technique such as Balance, Styling, turn technique etc. That's why we recommended for the total beginners, in the first 6 months first learn Salsa Cubana, and then decide further which Style to continue.

Mambo On2 (N.Y.Style)

When New York meets Puerto Rico. It's Afro influence combines with the "Nuyorica" (New Yorker Puerto Rican) Style. Danced On 2. Besides its dynamic turn pattern in Partner work while dancing in a linear motion, it also has a lot of "Shine" - solo with mainly torso movement. Best fits with the music "Mambo" or Music from Puerto Rico.
